Wallpaper hung so the joins disappear
Wallpapering is a different trade to painting, and it shows. A well-hung wall has joins you cannot find, a pattern that runs true around the room, and no bubbles that appear a fortnight later as the paste dries out. Getting there depends almost entirely on what happens before the first drop goes up.
Old paper comes off properly rather than being papered over. Walls get washed down, filled and sanded, and sized or lined where the surface needs it. Heavily textured or previously painted walls usually want a lining paper first — it costs a little more, and it is the difference between a wall that looks flat and one that telegraphs every imperfection underneath.
Papers we hang
Standard and paste-the-wall papers, heavy vinyls, non-wovens, grasscloth and other natural fibres, hand-printed and delicate papers that need careful handling, and large photographic murals supplied as numbered panels. Feature walls in bold botanical or geometric prints are as popular as ever around South Manchester, and we do plenty of them.
How much paper will you need?
More than the calculator on the shop website tells you, usually. Pattern repeat is what drives the number, and a large drop repeat can add a full roll to a small room. Send us the paper details before you order and we will work out the quantity properly. It is much cheaper than running a roll short halfway up a stairwell and finding the batch has sold out.
