Terms & Conditions
These terms cover the use of this website and set out how we normally work. They are not intended to replace the written quote you receive for your job — where the two differ, the quote takes precedence.
Using this website
The content on this site is provided in good faith and for general information. Descriptions of our services are a guide to what we do, not an offer capable of acceptance. Photographs show work we have carried out; the finish achievable on your property depends on its condition, the surfaces involved and the materials chosen.
The text, layout and photographs on this site belong to us and may not be reproduced without permission.
Quotations
Work that changes once we start
Older properties in particular can hide problems that are not visible when we quote — blown plaster behind wallpaper, damp, or timber that turns out to be rotten rather than just tired. If we find something like that, we will stop, tell you what we have found and what it will cost to put right, and wait for you to decide before carrying on. You will not find extra work added to your invoice that you did not agree to.
Access, preparation and the site
We ask that rooms are as clear as they reasonably can be before we start, and that we have access on the agreed days along with the use of power and water. We will move and protect furniture that is left in place, but we would rather you moved anything fragile, irreplaceable or of sentimental value yourself.
We cover floors and furnishings as a matter of course and tidy up at the end of each working day.
Materials and colours
We use trade materials from established manufacturers. Where you choose a colour, we will apply the colour you have specified — please check testers in the actual room and in daylight before confirming, as colours behave differently depending on the light and the aspect of the room. Repainting because a colour is not what you expected is chargeable as additional work.
Slight variation between batches of paint or wallpaper is a feature of the products, not a defect.
Timescales
We give a realistic number of days when we book you in. External work depends on the weather, and we will not apply a coating in conditions that stop it curing properly — if that means moving a day, we will tell you as early as we can.
Completion and payment
Before we leave we will walk round the finished work with you. Anything that is not right gets put right there and then. Payment terms are set out on your quote and invoice. On larger jobs we may ask for a materials deposit up front; this will always be stated in the quote rather than sprung on you later.
Cancellation
Where you engage us as a consumer away from our business premises, you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of agreeing the work. If you ask us to start within that period and then cancel, we may charge for work already done and materials already bought. Please give us as much notice as you can if you need to move a booked date.
Putting things right
If a defect in our workmanship appears after we have finished, tell us and we will come back and look at it. This does not cover damage caused by damp, structural movement, accidental damage, or ordinary wear and tear. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
