Internal Decorating in Wilmslow
Internal decorating in Wilmslow
Wilmslow is one of the areas we work in most. It is about twenty minutes from our base in Wythenshawe, so getting to a job here is straightforward and there is no travel premium on the quote.
The housing is mixed in a way that matters for decorating. There are substantial Edwardian and 1930s detached houses around Fulshaw and off Macclesfield Road with deep skirtings, picture rails and original plaster, and there are modern executive estates where the walls are plasterboard and the woodwork is factory-finished MDF. Those two need different preparation entirely. Old lime and gypsum plaster wants filling and sealing before it will take a topcoat evenly; new plasterboard wants a proper mist coat, thinned correctly, or the finish will peel away with the tape.
A lot of what we do in Wilmslow is whole-house redecoration after a purchase, and phased room-by-room work in houses people are already living in. If you are moving in, the empty-house window before the furniture arrives is by far the cheapest and fastest time to get everything done at once.
Hallways, stairs and landings come up constantly here because the properties tend to have generous, tall stairwells. They need proper access equipment rather than a ladder balanced on a step, which is worth checking whoever you hire actually has.
