Interior painting, done properly

Painting is the part of decorating everybody pictures, and the part that goes wrong most often when it is rushed. Roller marks that show up when the light moves across the wall. Cut-in lines that wander. Woodwork that feels gritty because it was never sanded between coats. None of that is bad luck — it is skipped steps.

We paint walls, ceilings and woodwork throughout the house. Every surface is prepared first: filled and sanded flat, caulked where woodwork meets plaster, degreased in kitchens, and primed wherever bare substrate or a heavy colour change means a topcoat alone will not cover.

Choosing colours and finishes

We work with Dulux Trade, Little Greene, Farrow & Ball, Johnstone's Trade and Crown. If you already know the colour, we will get it mixed. If you are stuck between three testers on the wall, we are happy to give you an opinion — particularly about how a colour will behave in a north-facing room, which is where most South Manchester colour regrets come from.

Finish matters as much as colour. Matt hides imperfections in older plaster but marks more easily in a hallway. Eggshell and satinwood on woodwork stay cleanable for years. We will tell you what we would use in your room and why, rather than defaulting to the same tin for everything.
